Design’s Peter Scupelli Begins Tenure as Nierenberg Chair

Carnegie Mellon University's School of Design is honored to announce that Peter Scupelli has been named as the 2019-2022 Nierenberg Chair. Peter Scupelli is the Founder and Director of the Learning Environments Lab and is currently teaching required undergraduate and graduate-level courses in the School of Design. During his three-year tenure as the Nierenberg Chair, Scupelli plans to focus on sharing the sustainability centered courses that he has developed at CMU with the world as open-source teaching resources.

Alumnus Russell Singer 3D Prints Kickstarter Success

Russell Singer, an Industrial Design Alumnus from Carnegie Mellon University's School of Design (BDes '09), recently launched a successful Kickstarter campaign with his company, Singer Personal Audio, for customizable 3D printed, high quality home audio products.

Former Nierenberg Chair Wins Cooper Hewitt National Design Award

Dr. Patricia Moore, the 1996-1997 Nierenberg Chair at Carnegie Mellon University’s School of Design, was recently awarded the Design Mind Award from Cooper Hewitt’s National Design Awards. Cooper Hewitt’s National Design Awards brings national recognition to the ways in which design enriches everyday life.z`
