CMU Design League Goes to New York

Vinita Israni

Taking time out from their Fall Break, a group of 40 students planned a trip to New York to gain an intimate look into one of the leading design capitals of the country. Such a trip is planned each semester with a new destination each time. The students got a chance to speak to employees and founders in both large and small companies. The firms were from a variety of disciplines including industrial design, communication design, interaction design, and animation to name a few. The lineup of companies included R/GA, Siegal+Gale, Christian Schwartz, and AKQA among others.

In addition to professional development presentations, the students got to explore New York, taking advantage of the numerous museums, shopping districts, and fabulous cuisine.
