Steve Stadelmeier is an associate professor in the School of Design. He teaches courses in product design including Senior Project, Design Studio II, and How Things Work. His interests include group problem formulation and working strategies, and personal mobility, especially issues of autonomy related to disabled mobility.

Stadelmeier is currently working with institutions in Bangalore and Singapore to create product development strategies appropriate to their particular business and cultural situations. He consults on group decision-making and problem formulation with clients including Boeing Commercial Aviation, Johnson & Johnson Consumer Products Worldwide, and Air Products & Chemical, Inc.

Prior to coming to Carnegie Mellon, Stadelmeier taught at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia and Cornell University. He has over 35 years of private and group consulting experience.

Stadelmeier holds an MS in Design & Environmental Analysis from Cornell University and a BFA in Sculpture from the University of the Arts.
