Eric Anderson

Eric Anderson is a tenured professor in the School of Design at Carnegie Mellon University, where he has over 40 years of professional experience in design, with a particular focus on industrial design. He has dedicated more than 25 years of his career to Carnegie Mellon, where he teaches both undergraduate and graduate courses. Professor Anderson is also a co-founder of the Integrated Innovation Institute and served as a co-director of the Master of Integrated Innovation for Products and Services (MIIPS) program. This program unites students from design, engineering, and business disciplines to foster innovation in products and services.

In addition to his teaching duties, Professor Anderson has taken on several academic leadership roles, including Senior Associate Dean of the College of Fine Arts and Interim Head of the School of Design. He has also held esteemed positions in the professional community, such as Past President of the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) and Chair of IDSA's Board of Trustees for The Design Foundation. His achievements have garnered him several prestigious awards, including induction into the IDSA Academy of Fellows, the Design Management Institute's Outstanding Achievement Award, and the Distinguished Alumnus Award from The Ohio State University’s design department.

Professor Anderson earned his Bachelor of Science in Industrial Design from the University of the Arts, as well as both a Master of Arts and a Master of Fine Arts from The Ohio State University.
