Designing with CARE: Co-Creating Solutions for Complex Care Coordination in Oncology

Friday, May 3, 2024
3:00PM - 5:00PM
UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital, Conference Room 2131

Throughout the semester, students have been crafting solutions to enhance cancer care delivery within the Division of Gynecologic Oncology. Together, our primary goal has been to investigate how 'small wins' can plant the seeds for a holistic approach to complex cancer care coordination. Students have collaborated closely with medical teams, learning the art of co-design alongside patients and their caregivers.

As many of you know, this course has been a deeply personal and meaningful collaboration, made possible by the dedication of CARE champions from the Schools of Medicine and Nursing at the University of Pittsburgh, the School of Nursing at Duquesne University, and the UPMC Magee-Womens Cancer Center's Division of Gynecological Oncology. Our transdisciplinary approach is exploring new ways of combining expertise from academic institutions and healthcare organizations to improve health outcomes and reimagine learning models for higher education.
